WHO WE ARE
The Polk County Council of Teachers of Mathematics (PCCTM) is a non-profit organization that promotes the improvement of mathematics instructional programs through cooperation and communication among the educators of mathematics in Polk County. PCCTM also provides direction and feedback to policymakers regarding mathematics issues and initiatives, and affiliate with national organizations when such affiliation seems beneficial to teaching mathematics.

The Purpose of the Florida Council of Teachers of Mathematics (FCTM) is to:

promote the improvement of instructional programs of mathematics in Florida;

promote cooperation and communication among the teachers of mathematics in Florida, and;

affiliate with national organizations when such affiliation seems beneficial to the interest of teaching of mathematics.

National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, (NCTM) is a public voice of mathematics education, providing vision, leadership, and professional development to support teachers in ensuring mathematics learning of the highest quality for all students. It was founded in 1920, NCTM is the world’s largest mathematics education organization, with 100,000 members and 250 Affiliates throughout the United States and Canada.
